In the iPad there many features in the Settings of the iPad put in place to allow you to customize the interface of the iPad to make your use unique. You can find these options in the 'Settings' application that as of IOS 8 looks similar to two gears.
Once inside under the third group of options you will find general which will open many options to the right side of the screen, to alter different workings of the iPad, but the features we are going to use In this walkthrough are under the sub-option 'Accessibility'. This will lead you to a new set of options on the right.
The first option is the voice over option which allows you to make any written words on the screen be spoken aloud by the SIRI, whether you set it to when it appears, or when you highlight it.
Then the zoom option can be confusing to use as it zooms in on a corner of the screen and can be disorienting as moving around the screen is a little cumbersome. Then the next option invert colours is a simple switch option, which changes the colours of everything to the opposite and similarly grayscale option changes everything to a colourless version.
Speech allows you to get SIRI to speak aloud what's on the screen and has some options to edit to make it more comfortable for you, like the speed, type of voice, and how the option becomes activated. Larger text simply makes the text bigger with a scale to make it a specific size, with a bold option to make them thicker.
The button shape switch makes the icons to navigate menus more defined. The increase contrast has a few options to reduce transparency and either darken colours of reduce the intensity of bright colours.
Reduce motion turns off the effect that the gyroscope has on the main menu background, and On/Off labels makes the switches more clear which side is on or off with some icons.
Next the hearing aid option allows you to link it to a hearing aid to help use the device. Mono Audio can either fuse both audio channels so there are no difference with either side, or you can use the slider to affect how much it changes.
Subtitles and captioning do as you might guess and display written dialog of the what's being spoken in available videos while the video descriptions shows a quick description on the video being viewed.
Guided access is a useful tool if some students aren't paying attention during a lesson on an iPad because with either a triple of the home button or a passcode you can lock the iPad into the active app, this is deactivated by the same method of activation.
The final three option are extensive options for customizing how different things work on the iPad and how to navigate the iPad, with an extra option to assign a task to a triple home button tap.
